Medlab Clinical to start Cannabis trial

Medlab Clinical Limited (ASX:MDC) has announced it is preparing to start Australia’s first clinical trial using cannabis.

The trial will target cancer patients suffering intractable pain and will take place at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.

Commencement of the trial is subject to hospital ethics approval and the granting of a trial number from the Therapeutic Goods Administration.

Medlab’s cannabis formulation will be known as Nanabis™ and will be manufactured in Melbourne.

Medlab Clinical Limited posted a net loss of $3.7 million at 30 June 2016.
