Skywest Airlines Limited (ASX:SXR) has scored a new three-year Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) contract from global mining company Rio Tinto Limited (ASX:RIO).

The Australian and South East Asia regional airline will provide air charter services for Rio’s Brockman 4 mine and surrounding mines in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Executive Chairman Jeff Chatfield says the contract underpins Skywest’s scheduled Fly In Fly Out charter business, providing a growing and long term revenue stream.

Virgin Australia Holdings Limited (ASX:VAH) inked a $95 million deal to buy Skywest Airlines in October.

Skywest Airlines reported a net profit of $5.5 million in the 2012 financial year.
