ALS, an analytical laboratory and testing services company, says the acquisition will give it access to the general environmental market and compliments its mainland European based environmental business.  

 

Severn Trent Analytical Services provides analytical services to water authorities in the UK and operates laboratories in England and a logistics centre in Ireland.

 

Severn Trent Analytical Services generates annual revenues of around $23 million and will lift ALS’s total staff in the UK and Ireland to 870.  

 

ALS reported a net profit of $224.7 million in the 12 months to March 31, 2012.
