The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has filed proceedings in the Federal Court against Australian Power and Gas Company Limited (ASX:APK) in relation to its door-to-door selling.

The ACCC alleges APG sales representatives made false or misleading representations while meeting consumers for the purpose of negotiating electricity agreements.

The alleged conduct occurred across Queensland, NSW and Victoria between January and October 2011.

The consumer watchdog alleges APG engaged in unconscionable conduct involving a consumer from a non-English speaking background.

APG booked a full year net loss of $8.6 million.
