Jason will officially start his new position in Melbourne on 1 January 2020.
He has worked with Meridian for 12 years.
He was General Manager of the Office of the Chief Executive, where he was General Counsel and Company Secretary and was accountable for the Sustainability, Legal, Regulatory, Government Relations and Communications functions.
He will relocate from Wellington to Melbourne in the New Year with his young family.
Shares in Meridian Energy (ASX:MEZ) closed 0.47 per cent higher at $4.24.
