Beacon Minerals Limited (ASX: BCN) has received approvals from the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) for multiple drilling programs across its projects in Western Australia. The approved programs cover the Lady Ida Iguana Project, Black Cat South Project, and Mt Dimer Project.

At the Lady Ida Iguana Project, approvals include a grade control drill program consisting of 201 reverse circulation holes for 10,854 metres, designed to increase confidence in the Iguana Stage 1 Pit. A waste dump sterilisation program has also been approved, which will involve 278 air core drill holes for 14,456 metres to sterilise the footprint of the Stage 1 waste dump. Additionally, a laterite drill program will be conducted, consisting of 246 air core holes for 2,950 metres to assess the extent of laterite deposits at the pit boundary.

The Black Cat South sterilisation drill program has been approved to support road rerouting and facilitate pit extension. This program consists of 24 air core holes for 720 metres. At the Mt Dimer Project, Beacon Minerals will conduct a drill program targeting the Thunder area, consisting of 30 air core holes for 1,620 metres. The Thunder target is located near existing resources at Mt Dimer and is being explored for its mineral potential.

Managing Director Graham McGarry noted that obtaining approvals had been a lengthy process but welcomed the ability to commence drilling. “The approval for various drill programs has finally been received. This has been a long and exhausting process. Beacon is now able to proceed with a series of AC and RC drill programs. It is envisaged that we will have two rigs working over the next three months.”

Beacon Minerals expects to make significant progress in resource exploration and development across its projects as these drilling programs commence.
