ENE extends contract to 2036

Company News

Energy Developments Limited (ASX:ENE) has extended its German Creek power project to 2036 under a new 15 year extension with Anglo American.

The company says it will have access to waste coal mine gas from the Grasstree undergound coal mine and the deal also involves the expansion of the current 45MW project.

The project has been operational since 2007 and in the 2014 financial year the German Creek power project produced about 300,000 MWh of clean energy.

Managing Director Greg Pritchard says this extension, coupled with the recent 18MW expansion at Moranbah North, continues EDL’s growth in distributed energy generation with its global mining customers.

ENE reported a net profit of $45.4 million in the 2014 financial year.
